Theodore’s Ark is a voluntary animal welfare organization that maintains a shelter with stray dogs in an area of the association away from the city of Chios. The shelter currently hosts more than 80 dogs and 100 in total on a daily basis with continuous struggle and effort made by a few volunteers who make up it. Volunteer help is also offered to stray cats hosted in volunteers’ homes. Our association is of course legal with an elected Board of Directors and has about 3 years of operation.
In cooperation with the Chios Animal Welfare Association, it denounces incidents of abuse, participates in workshops and information campaigns on animal rights, promotes and organizes events with dogs for adoption and support of the association.
During this time of operation it has found family in more than 400 stray dogs and several cats inside and outside Chios (Athens, Thessaloniki, Oinousses, Patras, Salamina) and abroad (England, Belgium, Germany, Denmark), has helped find lost dogs and cats and has found family in several dominant animals.

In the village of Thymiana in Chios, there is a voluntary shelter for stray animals in a private area.
The private volunteer shelter for stray animals operating in the village of Thymiana, Chios, currently hosts 80+ dogs.
The shelter is located between the Caravel nightclub and the town hall of Thymiana on the right hand from Caravel to the town hall. From the road you can only see the back of a stop on an uphill from where you go up.
The shelter operates daily and is open to all.
