SAPT Hellas (Stray Action – Pet Therapy Hellas, Civil-Non-Profit Company) was founded at the end of 2005 with the following objectives:
- To inform children – and tomorrow’s citizens of Greece – on the correct behavior towards dogs (stray or dominant) on a theoretical and practical level and to sensitize them in relation to the very crucial problem of stray dogs (“Information Campaign” Program).
- To offer social work to socially vulnerable groups of the population through substantial contact of children or adults with mixed breeds, former stray and trained dogs of its volunteers (“Pet-Assisted Therapy” or “Therapeutic Contact Dogs” Program).
- To help as much as possible in solving the current “problem” of stray dogs, promoting and supporting with several benefits, dog adoptions (Program “Adoption of Companion Dogs”) without collection or hospitality. This programme is currently suspended but with a view to starting operations as soon as possible.
