The Animal Welfare Association of Nea Filadelfeia is an officially recognized association (#25700) and has as its main purpose the management of stray animals of Nea Filadelfia. It was founded in 2005 and since 2006, the continuous needs of hospitalization and hospitality of injured and abandoned animals led to the creation of a shelter for the animals in the care of the Association.
Indicatively, in 2014 alone, we managed about 500 animals and 234 adoptions were made.
The operation of the association and the animal shelter is 100% voluntary. The Association does not receive any subsidy from the Municipality or any other public or private body and relies solely on donations, virtual adoptions and income from the bazaars it organizes.
Apart from the care of animals, an important action of the Association is the educational programs that take place in collaboration with schools, either on their premises or in our area. The aim is to transmit animal welfare education and cultivate respect for animals.
